During the pandemic a group of my friends got together for a casual bike ride. What started off as a way to see each other outside during the pandemic turned into my love for cycling. Something special can happen when you get two or three gathered together. The bible says it like this in Matthew 18:20,  for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. I really felt like God was present when we rode together. It was refreshing. It was fun. It was challenging. And it was transformational. I recall our first rides, we could barely ride two or three miles. Then we pushed ourselves and encouraged each other to do a little bit more each time. Before we knew it, as the weeks and months went on, some of us were riding 5 miles, 10 miles and even 20 miles. That experience inspired me to start a new program through Sadie Strong called Pink Pedals.

The Sadie Strong Pink Pedals program is a fun and engaging cycling fitness program for women in the Buffalo Niagara region. The program includes weekly bike rides, goal setting, self-care activities and health & wellness resources that inspire women to make better health choices and achieve their physical and wellness goals. There is also a stationary bike and walk option. The group support and transferrable skills learned through the Sadie Strong Pink Pedals program will not only increase physical activity and wellbeing, it will also help to build self-esteem and encourage healthy habits that can promote healthy families.

Join us on Saturday mornings at 8:30am from May – August (weather permitting).  We will meet in the parking lot of the St. George Orthodox Church located at the corner of Amherst Avenue and Nottingham Terrace in Buffalo and ride around Delaware Park. Ride at your own pace. You can also choose to walk or jog around the park.  We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
